TODAY IN CLASSROOM 12 WE HAD OUR FIRST STUDENT LED ASSIGNMENT.
Playing to her strength and creative interests’ classroom 12’s very own Gianna Flores earned the privilege to step into a teaching role. Her mission: To lead her peers in an artistic rendition of a happy pug dog!
Step by step, she took advice from her instructors and conveyed those steps to her classmates. To begin her teaching process, Gianna drew a complete pug drawing, one that she placed on the front board, she then took the time to reflect on the steps she took to create her pug. Step one; use a rounded edged box to help with the spacing of the eyes, nose, mouth, ears.
Soon after Gianna began to move into the more detailed steps of her creation, she soon learned that classroom management plays a major role in any successful lesson. But Gianna endured and was able to calm her restless friends, soon after the excitement began to reach a peak; Gianna took a deep breath and politely requested assistance from her instructors. After a few moments the classroom was ready once again to receive instruction. Gianna conducted herself with great poise and took both criticism and compliments without allowing it to distract her.

As a leader in classroom 12 Gianna is rather empathetic, often sacrificing her free time and personal interest in order to be there for her friends. She is a shining example of how to be a good friend and student; and we are very proud of her.
